Last night I watched a really great movie. It's called Amelie. In case you couldn't tell from the title, it's French. It's about Amelie (Audrey Tautou), who finds a box behind her wall one day. It was hidden by a young boy a long time ago. She tracks him down and gives it back, and he is so happy that she devotes her life to making people happy. But then she meets this guy, Nino, and falls in love with him. She's so painfully shy, however, that she can't even talk to him. It's really quirky and fun and the colors in it are amazing. This is a bit of a change of subject, but last Thursday was my last acting class, and I will probably never see J again. While I was pining, however, I did attend a poetry slam. It was really great, and the poets were wonderful. This one girl wrote a poem about this forty-year-old actor that she was in love with (she said she wasn't kidding), and it was FANTABULOUS. It had humor, and metaphor, and everything a good poem needs.
Wistfully,

Of Slowness and... er, that's it...
Raspberry Beret is slowing down quite a lot right now... I've been pretty busy lately, but the rest of it shall be up soon! As soon as I have a chance, it really will be! I promise!

Of Colorful Eggs and Silver Bells
Happy Easter! There isn't much to tell about that (the usual egg dying and such things), but I have begun Raspberry Beret. Unfortunately, it just happens to be on my other computer, and I, of course, can't remember all of it. Alas, this will be the end of me... Oh! I think I have part of it with me on paper!
I walked past my favorite house in the world, and listened hard. It was about four blocks down from mine, in the less upper-class part of the neighborhood, and was painted a vibrant shade of purple. Two weeping willows swept the ground outside of it with their teary branches. Tiny, silver bells were fastened to their bows, and they rang with a delightful, sugar-plum-fairy sort of sound when the wind blew.
Today I was lucky, and an April wind was stirring the branches. I paused for a moment in front of the house, just listening. Then, with a sigh, I hoisted my bag, weighed down by textbooks, further up on my shoulder, and continued on my way home. Apart from school, home was my least favorite place. My parents were always wondering why I wasn't more like the next door neighbor's dauhter, Julia. I always had one answer to this: Julia was a suckup. She always did everything her parents wanted; she wore their pantyhose and loafers, their pink poly-blend sweaters. She attended their social functions, had the friends they wanted her to have, and kept her room their boring shades of beige.
Then it goes on to have much to do with and imaginary (of which her mom is unawares) friend and punk rock CD.. When I have access to my other computer, I'll put the rest of it on here.

Of Shakespearean Plays and Waiting
I saw J today! It was at acting class, though, so we didn't do much talking. Not much at all... It was fun though. We played this theater game where you have an objective improv, then someone reads off a card with a different style of acting, such as Shakespearean Play or Musical Comedy, and then, right there in the middle of the improv, you have to start acting that way. It changes a lot, too. It can be hard, but it's really, really fun. And that is my theater lesson to you for the day! Anyway, I am going to be waiting all week for J to call me, so no one mind me....

A Guide
I realize that I would like to be able to talk about my friends without extra explanations, so I have compiled a list of who everyone is:
N= my bestest bestie and former roommate
Na= bestie
M= bestie
Me= bestie
C= bestie
A= bestie
F= bestie
O= my cat
B= bestie guy friend
I= bestie guy friend
S= ditto
D= ditto
P= my ex
Jo= a friend
No= a friend
Sh= a friend
There. I THINK that's everyone. It would be a bit horrid if I missed someone... and i give N full credit for this idea (which I think she actually got from Gossip Girl)!
Hopefully,
Rosie L.

Of Peptobismal and Biology
Today i shadowed at my new school! It was quite interesting, i must say. My host (that makes it sound like i'm a parasite), let us just refer to her as "Host," introduced me to a lot of new people. In fact, the school is so small that I met almost the entire freshman class just today. I actually answered a question in Biology, which is odd because science is not my best subject. Furthermore, I didn't answer any questions in English or Math, which ARE my best subjects. This was probably mainly because I was watching some of the students preform a radio play based off The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which was really cool. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom. When i walked in, I thought i had walked into a four-year-old girl's dress-up bin. The ENTIRE bathroom was painted a horrid and unnerving shade of Peptobismal pink. As Host described it, "Peptobismal on eight pounds of skittles. And acid." Yeah. That pink. Other than my disturbing bathroom experience, the day went well. I may indeed attend that school next year.

Ah, art!
Happy St. Patrick's Day, to those who celebrate it! I am not an unhappy person today, and it has nothing to do with the overtly "Irish" mood, either! I am happy because...the person i like seems to like me back! I know that is a very generic reason to be happy, but I have discovered that it can make an entire day bliss! Apart from that, a teacher deemed my paper on romantic transcendentalism "amazing," and my story is going well. Ah, art!

Of Berets and Violins
Today being Sunday, i am off to symphony practice in the studious depths of a local university! I have been practicing, and i hope i can finally play everything. My shadowing experience at a new school looms closer, but i refuse to be nervous. In fact, my spirits are up about it! I am heartened by the fact that i have a new story idea. It is about a girl who is kind of an oddball and finds a raspberry beret (as in the old song). Something slightly magical will happen with the beret, but my Inner Novelist refuses to figure out exactly what just yet. Ah well...

A Polite Hello to the Universe of Blogging!
Hello, universe of blogging! I've always known that you existed, somewhere away over the rainbow, or on the other side of the mountains! But now i have joined it! I look forward to exploring it thoroughly and completely, even if I do fall into some rivers on the way.
Cheerio!
